Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: If I order a Custom Wand, what will it look like? A: If you order a Custom Apprentice Wand, the wand design will be chosen by the wandmaker. However, you may choose to submit your own design if you already have one in mind. We have now added a new section to our website which will help you design your very own wand. The page is labeled Design A Wand on our main menu. If you order a Custom Adult Wand, you get to choose the category of your handle design. The pictures listed are only placed there as an example of each category. Your wand will be of an original design based on the style you choose. You may also submit a sketch or picture of your own wand design. Q: Does it cost extra to use my own design? A: No, there is no additional charge for providing your own sketch or picture. In fact, it is encouraged. Our goal is to create the perfect wand for you. There may be certain limitations to the style and material used. However, as long as it is a design we are capable of crafting, we will do our best to match your vision.
Q: How long does a Custom Wand take to craft? A: The crafting time varies according to order volume. Each wand is crafted in the order it is received. Every wand is treated as a piece of artwork, and thus we take our time planning out each one. Your wand is handcrafted by a real person, not mass produced by machines. We strive to craft the wands within 3-4 weeks of payment. However, sometimes there are too many requests to achieve this goal. Certain holidays and events affect the time it takes to craft and ship a wand, such as Christmas and movie releases.
Q: I never received my wand! What can I do? A: Please contact us if you have ordered a wand and have not received it within 6-8 weeks of payment. We are human, and as such do make mistakes and misplace orders, or do not receive orders do to a computer error. It may also be a case of us being overloaded with requests and not able to craft the wands as quickly as we would like.
Q: I have not gotten a response to my emails! What should I do? A: If you have received an email explaining that we have a large order volume and are working as fast as we can, we generally do not send another email until the wand is completed as there is no update to give. If you have not received an answer at all to your emails, then it is possible the email is getting filtered out by the mail system or is not getting received. In this case, you may try alternate emails such as sales@wizardwands.net, admin@wizardwands.net, info@wizardwands.net, or wandsmaster@msn.com. If all else fails, you can send us a letter via our contact information on your order form.
Q: If I break my wand will you replace it? A: We only replace wands that have been lost in the mail or damaged during delivery. However, you may contact us for a repair if a repair is possible. If the handle is fractured and separated from the shaft, we can craft a new handle and bond the original shaft to it. You will be required to mail the pieces back to us, and pay a return shipping charge. The charge for this is $10.00, which includes shipping.
Q: Is my wand real? A: Yes, your wand is made of genuine exotic and domestic woods of your choosing. It is not made of plastics or resins.
Q: Can I cast real magic like the movies? A: There is real magic that can be performed with the wand, however it takes intense study and practice. Will you be able to shoot colorful sparks and levitate objects? Im afraid not. The magic I speak of abides by the laws of the universe and relativity. It is an old magic that must be researched and understood. We are in the process of creating a book that will teach you about the aspects of magic and how to apply it to wand work. But if you are looking to wave your wand around out of the box and create dazzling visual affects, Im sorry to say that you will be disappointed.
Q: Is the core inside my wand real? A: Inside your wand lies the essence of the creature you choose. It does not dwell on this plane of existence, therefore cannot be harvested in a physical manner. Any wandmaker which claims to insert real cores from mythological creatures is not being truthful. The creature core you choose represents the personality and traits of your wand. If you believe in the magic the core brings to your wand, then it shall be so. There is much power in thought. Believing manifests into reality.
Q: Can I own more than one wand? Or will only one wand be bond to me? A: Yes, you can own several wands. In fact, it is encouraged, as each wand has a unique combination of magical properties. Creating wands specific to the work you wish to perform, whether it be healing or defense for example, selecting woods which focus on this is a wise choice. Just as a carpenter utilizes many tools, so does the practitioner as each tool is designed for a specific task.
Q: I would like to purchase more than five wands, but not as a retailer. Are there any discounts for large orders? A: Yes, please contact us before you are ready to make a large purchase and we are certain to give you a discount. Collectors or event coordinators are always welcome.
Q: Do you have a store I can visit in person? A: Not currently, however we would love to open one in the future. We have big plans for a store which would make the purchasing of a Wizard Wood Wand a magical experience.
Q: I am not a real wizard, can I still buy a wand? A: What makes you think you do not possess magic within you? I will let you in on a little secret. You do. You just have to find it. And believe.
Q: Do I have to buy an oiling kit for my wand? A: No, your wand will never need to be oiled. We use a lacquer base finish which seals the wood and protects it from blemishes, water damage and splintering. Our wands do not require any maintenance accept care and kindness.
Q: Do you sell spell books or can you recommend one? A: We are currently working on a book specific to wand magic. This book will both introduce magic to the reader as well as teach him/her spells to cast with their wand. More books will follow with a large collection of spells and advanced uses.
Q: Can I add pictures or symbols to my wand? A: Yes, we offer woodburning on both the handle and shaft. Please contact us as there is an extra charge for adding graphics, however they are very small. Or you can email the sketch or picture you have in mind for approval. We are limited to line drawings and cannot burn highly detailed or color pictures.
Q: What is the difference between the Adult Wizard Wand and the Apprentice Wand? A: The only difference between the two is the length of the wand. The Apprentice Wand is 12 -14 inches and the Adult Wand is 14 - 16 inches. This does not make the Adult Wizard Wand in any way more powerful than the Apprentice Wand. It is a size preference. I for one, prefer the Apprentice Wand size for me as I have small hands and the proportions feel right, but some prefer longer wands. |
